The report underscores the importance of providing education to homeless children and youth, and the need for increased coordination among city agencies and the DOE to provide services to these students
AFC has been awarded a grant from the New York State Education Department to operate the New York State Technical and Education Assistance Center for Homeless Students (NYS-TEACHS), which provides information, referrals, and trainings to schools, school districts, social service providers, parents, and others about the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness
