  • Per chi non l'avesse capito, questo simbolo si chiamerà Batman, l'uomo-pipistrello, terrore dei criminali nella metropoli della corruzione

  • Come titolo, semplice ed essenziale, dice tutto quello che serve: il protagonista è Batman, e la storia narrata riguarda le origini del cavaliere nero

  • Per farla breve, se è vero che il panorama cinematografico attuale ha visto un crescente proliferare di pellicole incentrate su supereroi dei fumetti, è anche vero che Batman Begins si distingue tra tutti per un maggiore taglio psicologico, se non addirittura filosofico

  • L’aspetto più affascinante della storia tuttavia è il processo di formazione dell’eroe che, lentamente, viene annullandosi del tutto nel suo oscuro alter-ego, tanto che alla fine ci si chiederà quale dei due, Bruce Wayne o Batman, sia la maschera dell’altro

  •         Batman Begins è una pellicola di ottimo livello, che potrebbe gettare le basi di un nuovo modo di concepire i film sui supereroi , facendo sembrare irrimediabilmente banale qualsiasi prodotto basato esclusivamente sulla spettacolarità delle sequenze d’azione

  • That relationship started when Burton asked Elfman to provide the score for his first movie 'Pee-Wee's Big Adventure' (1985) whose modest success led to Beetlejuice, Batman and Edward Scissorhands to fully bring the partnership into the Hollywood big league

  • In Batman the powerful Gothic theme seems to reverberate from some dark cathedral, with some colourful characterisation for the deranged Joker, and in Edward Scissorhands we have a gentle fairy tale with wonderful imagery (and equally descriptive music) which seems to have escaped from a fairy story rather than a horror movie

  • The collaboration continued with Batman Returns with arguably even better music characterisation than the original, and then The Nightmare Before Christmas

  • Both Elfman and Burton started some trends with their Batman and other film collaborations, and dark and gothic became fashionable

  • Hardened Elfman addicts will also want to snap up his two Batman soundtracks, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and anything else available
